The Air Transport Users Council (AUC) is the consumer watchdog for the airline industry in the UK. Their website explains your rights as an airline passenger and how to complain about an airline or airport. Look out for the Air Travel Advice index which provides links to information on many issues relevant to the airline passenger.

Your rights as an air passenger
Find out your rights when you buy a flight or air-based package in the UK. The Civil Aviation Authority operate a protection scheme for flights and air holidays, based around a licence called an ATOL (Air Travel Operators Licence). Most firms who sell air travel in the UK are required by law to hold this licence.
